how to use nScope #17

I just unburied my nscope and am looking for information for how to use it and some starter projects. Where can I find information about it's use. I would like to use it with a Circuit Playground Express but I want to make sure that I don't want to blow either of them up. Specifically with a ultrasound sensor and then other sensors.

Thanks Chuck

nScope is similar to off-the-shelf electronic equipment, but has multiple functions combined.

If you're measuring another circuit with nScope, the best way to use nScope is as an oscilloscope only. That means doing two things:

1) connecting the ground of nScope to the ground of your circuit. This can either be done by building your circuit on the breadboard that nScope is on, or by wiring the grounds together with a jumper. The ground rails are the outside rails on the nScope breadboard.

2) connecting a signal that you want to read to an analog input. The signal should remain with +/-5V, and can be connected directly to any of the pins Ch1-Ch4 on the nScope breadboard. Since those pins are high impedance, they won't do any damage to your circuit. If you mistakenly use a voltage outside the +/-5V range, then your signal will be clamped, but you're unlikely to permanently damage the nScope.

The recommended way to build with nScope is to build your circuit directly on the nScope breadboard and power your circuit with the nScope power supply. This way you cannot easily produce unsafe voltages and your power supply is constantly monitored for unsafe conditions.
