faithful visual settings #13

nQuake looks receive lots of criticism for not being faithful. namely the fonts, and hud...

i think the default look should be changed to something more faithful. charset a bit like this: http://gfx.quakeworld.nu/details/196/original-conchar-simplified/

faithful weapon icons, face, big letters... 24bit stuff

can't go wrong with vanilla. everything else than vanilla is down to taste. we don't want that

I think the current HUD etc is better than a faithful one to be honest as it feels fresher and is probably clearer than a faithful one. "If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it" (you won't hear the satisfied users as much? :)) Unless a faithful HUD can somehow be achieved in a pluggable manner (using an alias or something) i'd leave this for now.

I think the current warsaw looking hud is currently a massive change from the vanilla look. based on that alone, i think it should be changed.

the default font has been changed, hud is next imo.

i don't think it matters how "pluggable" it is, as long as it stays a bit more faithful to Quake
