Hey,

me and few other Finnish players (thread in Finnish) are trying to figure out how to promote #gather.fi (Finnish pickup channel) after it's popularity has decreased a lot during the past year.

I was wondering if you would accept a pull request that would add text "#gather.fi x/12" to the footer. (x being length of players here).

The text would be only showed to those that come to the site from Finnish IP addresses (this looks good to me) and it would use JSONP for fetching information.

We're hoping to revive the Finnish TF2 scene a bit by getting more players, so consider my suggestion. I'm not keen start doing things before approval.

Hi @JaniL,

I think adding an entry just for one pickup is a bit unreasonable. Maybe we could look into creating a separate page for all the pickups / lobby systems that exist instead? Someone would need to take care of maintaining that though, which I don't have time for unfortunately. :/

Having a list of pickups sounds like a good idea, but it isn't really related to movies.

Another project dedicated for that perhaps with real-time status information from pickups? TF2Movies site could then link to that, possibly with somekinda JS widget that shows status of various pickups. For me it sounds like something that I could look into.

Does TF2Center etc. have an API where you can access the status information though?

I don't think so. I would look into IRC pickups first, regexping & spliting information from topics. Then later start parsing web based pickups or talk to the admins if we can sort out a status api.

I'll take care of finishing the pickup bot first, I could take a look at my idea later then. I'm more into finishing one thing at a time. :-)
