nad-ang commented 2 months ago

Hello, I would like to use your code generation tool. You said for the installation I should put in my API key. I do not know which one you mean. Could you please add in the instructions how to obtain the required key?

nad-ang commented 2 months ago

Hello, Nad-Ang! Thank you for reaching out. We're sorry for the confusion. The API key you're referring to is required for authentication purposes. We're currently looking into how to obtain this key. We'll update the instructions as soon as possible. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi, Is there any way to hide the API keys automatically.? Should I remove it from my code manually.?

anandgovardhan commented 1 month ago

Hi DSTBNCI, usually the API key is something you get when you set up your account with the service. Have you signed up for an account with Team4 Code Whisperer? If you have, there might be a section in your account settings where you can generate or find your API key.

Hi @anandgovardhan, thanks for the response. Yes, I have an account with Team4 Code Whisperer, but I don't see any place in the account settings to get the API key. Could you provide more detailed instructions or point me in the right direction?

Hi @DSTBNCI, I had a similar issue before. You might want to check the project settings within your Team4 Whisperer dashboard. Sometimes the API keys are tied to specific projects.

  1. Go to your project settings and
  2. look for anything related to API or integration.

Hi @AzaBor23, I looked in the project settings but I couldn't find anything about the API key. There are some options for integration, but they don't mention an API key specifically. Am I missing something?

Johndevops88 commented 1 month ago

Hi @DSTBNCI, Let me guide you through the steps:

  1. Log in to your Team4 Code Whisperer account.
  2. Go to the dashboard and select the project you are working on.
  3. Once in the project, look for a tab or section labeled "API Access" or "Integrations".
  4. There should be an option to generate a new API key. Click on that and copy the key.
  5. Now, go to Visual Studio and when prompted, enter the API key you just generated. Let me know if this helps!

Thanks!

Thank you so much @Johndevops88! I followed your steps and found the "API Access" tab. I was able to generate a new API key and it worked perfectly in Visual Studio. I appreciate everyone's help!

Update: I found the API key generation section in the project settings under the "API Access" tab as @Johndevops88 described. Everything is working great now. Thanks again for the support!

A user, Nad-Ang, requested help with obtaining an API key for the code generation tool. The discussion ensued about where to find the API key and how to generate it. The team is looking into adding instructions for obtaining the API key in the tool's documentation.
