CPU Temerature missing #280

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I do not see CPU temperature, only use. Fir one of the HDs the temperature is 
missing. I do not see any output of the graphics card.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version is 0.3.2 Beta

The CPU is one with NetBurst micro-architecture (Pentium 4) and does not have 
any core temperature sensors (as far as I know). The monitoring chip on the 
mainboard (if there even is any) is unknown to me. So I don't really see a way 
to read the CPU temperature.

The missing temperature of the Maxtor HDD is a bug. The drive is identified as 
SSD which is of course wrong. I will try to fix this.

What kind of graphics card does that system use? I suspect onboard graphics, 
which is not really supported by the Open Hardware Monitor (because usually 
there are no sensors).

I have fixed the problem with the HDDs. Please test once more with the 
following version:

Pity with the CPU temperature- would like to have it displayed. I remember that 
on WinXP I used any different program (cannot recall which one - only thing I 
remember is any italian guy did it) and this one displayed the temperature, so 
there must be any sensors.
The temperature of the Maxtor HDD is now available and displayed - thanks a lot 
for the fix !!!
And the graphics card went mad - guess it went too hot and since then didn't 
work properly any more. I took a new one and this one is supported fine.
Can I do anything to help you with the CPU temperature ?

Maybe you used SpeedFan. You could check with that application once more and 
see if there are any clues where to get the temperature value from (which IC).

I am not sure what hardware you use, but if it is a Dell Precision Workstation 
670 as depicted here

then it might use the LPC47M534-NC super I/O chip from SMSC. Thats at least

suggests. To have a chance of adding support we would need to find out the 
super I/O chip (or other monitoring chip) used, and then get a datasheet for 
the chip.

You are correct with the hardware - this is the system I use.
I took a look at the freeware SIW(System Information for Windows - 
www.gtopala.net) and it shows 6 temperature sensors and their values. 
Unfortunately it does not say how to access them.

As far as I know SIW uses the SDK from CPUID for sensor reading. Can you test 
with the latest HWMonitor from CPUID 
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html then save a report with that 
software and attach the report here?

Sure. Find attached the report. And you are right, the result looks the same as 
in SIW.

Hi

I have the same problem. CPU temp is not displayed. Please see the attachment. 
I can see the temp in the hardware monitor in the BIOS.
