New user email does not link to member profile #416

New user KM signed up today, but the email they received linked them to a nonexistent page, /member/profile/

They should have been sent to /member/profile/USER_NAME

The link /member/profile/ works for everyone and it should redirect you to the user profile page you are logged in as. I just verified this works. I'm wondering if the user that had this was logging in from an android phone? We know android phones don't follow the redirect like they should. There is already a bug in for that.

I watched her do it -- and it came up with an error.

She's using Edge browser, so that's probably the problem. I'll tell her to use chrome. -M

Kelly Reimer also had this issue yesterday. Just noting that. I can’t remember her browser but it was also an issue for her.

Both were in the office at the time? Can both of you verify the link redirects in the office to your own profiles?

It redirects to my own profile if I'm logged in, but it goes to "Not Found" if I'm not in a logged-in browser.

This is odd. If you are not logged in, it should send you to the login page with next=/member/profile which tells it to go there once you've logged.

One thing I am thinking is that the URL is pointed to http:// not https:// and the apache redirect of http:// might be messing with this. I changed this to be https://
