Waifu2x is an amazing tool, so amazing its hard to differentiate between real and machine upscaled images.
While some may prefer upscaled images, even machine upscaled, some people require that only the original high-res images be uploaded.
The PNG specification allows iTXt and tEXt data, which adobe uses to store metadata. It'd probably be more reasonable to use tEXt instead of iTXt for this however.
If it wouldn't be too hard to implement, it would be nice to have metadata regarding Waifu2x information, such as:
x-waifu2x-noise-reduction: (string or enum) [none|low|medium|high|highest]
x-waifu2x-upscale: (float) [1.6|2.0]
This would allow people to check if it was upscaled, and to see the upscale settings used.
I have this idea since the first release date but it's not implemtened yet.
Additionaly, I cannot control waifu2xed image that is converted by other softwares/sites (e.g. waifu2x-caffe).
