Creating new folders in SpotlightFS failing. #235

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Installing MacFUSE 0.4.0 or 0.3.0
2. Installing SpotlightFS
3. Mounting/Starting SpotlightFS
console: 2007-07-08 13:39:16.485 SpotlightFS[253] mounting on:
/Volumes/SpotlightFS
kextload: /System/Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/Support/fusefs.kext loaded
successfully
4. Trying to make a new folder (no difference whether with Cmd-Shift-N or
mkdir "some name" in terminal)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
There should be a new folder with the contents of the harddisk matching the
folder's name.

It is not possible to create new folders not with Cmd-Shift-N nor with
mkdir or even 'sudo mkdir'.

The permissions are not writable and it is not possible to change this.
-------------------
It is possible to use the functions of smartFolder within terminal.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
MacOS 10.4.10 (tried with 10.4.9 too) MacBook Pro.

Please provide any additional information below.
First I had MacFUSE 0.3.0 installed. It didn't work so I tried 0.4.0 - no
change.
Ejecting SpotlightFS is no problem.

1. SpotlightFS is not supported (and tagged as such when you download it).
Therefore, please don't open formal
issues for it here, although it's fine to discuss it in the macfuse-devel forum.

2. This should help:
http://groups.google.com/group/macfuse-devel/browse_thread/thread/dfa17df84f216f
e7
If it doesn't, we can continue discussion on macfuse-devel.
