"Update error.." message when installing, need force quit to stop

[GoogleCodeExporter]

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install the Secrets.prefPane (this user or all users)
2. secrets install itself and open up the pref panes
3. XML parser error (see below)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expecting to be able to use the pane. ( I can see it opened)
But seeing :
"Update Error
Data was corrupted: XML parser error: Encountered unknown tag html on line 4
Old-Style plist parser error: Malformed data byte group at line 1; invalid hex"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0b16 and 1.0b17 

Please provide any additional information below.
Getting repeated error message, lots of quacks (my default notification sound), 
have to force quit 
System preferences.

should be fixed, but before you update can you attach 
~/Library/Caches/Secrets.plist

works now (1.0b17 and 1.0b18)

I appzapped it after installation back then though so I don't have the plist 
anymore,
