I hate to ask the noob question, but since there isn't really a guide on here,
could you or someone who has this working post a step-by-step guide to
installing?

I've tried on ubuntu 11.10, 12.04, 12.10, and can't get it to work. I do a
sudo apt-get install aircrack-ng phython python-qt4 macchanger.... etc, making
sure everything is installed. then I download the .deb, run it, it looks like
it installs, giving me an icon (doesn't show up in the recently installed list)
and then never runs. air-crack runs fine, at least without the compat library
on my dell vostro 3750 with intel centrino wireless N 1030 card, but this app
never runs.

What I'm hoping to see is a how-to, with exact release, version, commands etc.
i.e:

1.) downlad and install Ubuntu 11.x (32/64) / kubuntu/ etc.
2.) type "sudo apt-get install x y z"
3.) ??
4.) profit

I'm not a noob to linux, but theres a lack of error messages being generated
here, so I dont know whats failing.

Thanks!

edit: nevermind. The icon doesn't launch it, but running sudo python
fern-wifi-cracker makes it work. dont know why the icon isn't launching it,
but i can do it by commandline for now

Ok.. Cool

I think the problem why its not running from double clicking the icon is
because the program was not ran with root privileges.

Thanks for the reply. yeah the icon makes it misleading that it doesn't need
root privleges, but it works great running from a terminal window as root so
all's good. Excellent work on the program sir!
