Synergistic Rollup Behaviour #318

What feature or enhancement do you propose?
While Rollup is a great feature, I'm not too keen on the current behaviour. A
more synergistic one would be to simply have it use the same style as actual
notifications, by displaying a discreet notification.

This notification could be a simply square profile item, featuring a "Stack" of
icons (like Apple's Dock Stacks) with icons for the applications that have
Rolled up notes, in a floating note that *has* to be dismissed before new
notifications will arrive. Clicking this will expand it into a full list of
notifications to dismiss, like what we have now, but matching whichever style
the user has chosen (so it would be like expanding the "Stack" notification).

Being able to specify a separate style from normal notes would be nice as well
actually, to distinguish the Rollup, but keep the positioning and appearance
user customisable. Perhaps a dedicated Rollup pane similar to the Displays one
(or a tab within that?) with all the same options, but some Rollup specific
extra options as well such as display as Stack or List, how many seconds to
wait before starting Rollup of notes and so-on.

What problem does it solve/What benefit does it provide?
The idea is to make a much less obtrusive, and more elegant interface and
behaviour for the otherwise great Rollup feature. Currently the big
centre-screen notice is a bit glaring, and after all it is a type of notice, so
it makes sense to treat it in a similar fashion so it can be kept where the
user wants it. The "Stack" idea should be nice and neat, but bold enough to
warrant action, without being intrusive.

Oh, I forgot to add as well, that another Rollup option could be to simply move
it into the menubar, specifically if issues #316 and #317 are implemented then
this could be another good alternative, as the menubar widget is nice and
discreet, even more so than a notification would be, but can give enough of a
visual cue to be actionable. Ideally it would still bring up the Rollup list to
avoid confusion with History, or to prevent the menu getting too unwieldy,
perhaps a Rollup entry with a number indicating the quantity of notes?

On which point, the Stack view should also have a badge of some kind to
indicate number of Rollup notes, forgot to mention that too =)

You have about 2-3 requests here, and the use of synergistic isn't very
descriptive. We're not going to have theming in rollup. Please file separate
issues on the separate items you want to have done.

We can't assume the user has a menubar icon, or a dock icon. Keep that in mind.

I'm not opposed to behavior change or changing how rollup looks, but it should
just work for people.

Fine, I've added this as issue #371 (display Rollup as a notification), #372
(Stack display) and #373 (Rollup to menubar widget or dock icon).
