Needs a way to disable permanently, or get user consent before reenabling #7

I disable Google Update because it insists on running 24/7. This is
unacceptable for any updater.

The problem is that every time I install a new Google product or update an
old one, Google Update is reinstalled or reenabled. So I have to go through
the steps of disabling it in four different places yet again, Startup,
Scheduled Tasks, Services, and the browser add-on.

Something like a "never install" registry key would be much appreciated,
and vital in my opinion if you insist on reinstalling it with every Google
product without asking permission.

Actually this is exactly why I never install any Google products on my personal
computers. Why do I need to check for updates when I am not running those
products?
This is not a good way of handling these kinds of things. Actually the same
things
happens to Mac version too but I was yet to find the project for Mac.

The issue of GoogleUpdate.exe running 24/7 has been addressed for most users.
See
Issue 2.

Update Engine is the open source name of the updater for Mac OS X. It should
run on a
schedule on Max OS X 10.5 and later. See
http://www.google.com/support/installer/bin/answer.py?answer=155069.

If you want to disable updates for one or more applications, see http://google-
opensource.blogspot.com/2009/05/google-update-releases-update-controls.html.
