DNS resolution of the server's name doesn't work without full DNS name #503

1.The transmission server is on the host host1.domainname.com. I am on the same
subnet(and my resolv.conf contains "search domainname.com").
2.I add a new connection specifying the server address as "host1"(without dns
suffix).

A MessageBox appears saying "host not found".
If I specify "host1.domainname.com" or the IP address everything works fine.

I am using transgui 3.2 for linux x86_64

If I type "ping host1" I can reach the server.

It doesn't work on Linux systems, but works for Windows.

I have transmission installed on router (host name: openwrt, IP address:
192.168.1.1). When I insert "openwrt" into server address box on Ubuntu 11.10,
I get the same message: "host not found". But it works without problems on
Windows XP.
