XMPP Jingle #167

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
XMPP Jingle is an alternative to SIP. It's not or poorly supported by OSX
applications and it would be interesting to have XMPP in a telephony
application. Main usage would be talking to GoogleTalk clients for now, but
there is Jingle support in Asterisk, Yate and FreeSWITCH too.

See http://code.google.com/apis/talk/libjingle/index.html for further details.
I too
would like to see it as a step further towards a universal VoIP application. I
have
not tried myself, but hopefully the UNIX/Linux version of the source is
reasonable
portable and could be used on OS X with minimal changes.

Psi 0.13 uses gstreamer on OS X.

and there is Telepathy, but I don't know if that's for OSX
