Auto calculate MD5's of [9 text] files, in a given dir, & in general, too many ways to do a task, differing task menu layouts, complex settings layout. #264
Q1.What steps will reproduce the problem?
A1. Hi, I would humbly request to see in peazip file browser, while looking at
the contents of a given directory, in the "checksum" column, (in my case I made
it show MD5's) have the browser, auto calculate, instead of me having to look
all thru the settings, and then find in the drop down arrow [very small btw,
should say "More" possibly?] next to the "properties button", then to scroll
down the list, and click "MD5" to see it manually calculate my list's md5's. It
seems to be a funny functionality. I suggest it say "Calculate MD5" or "Calc
MD5", in general, maybe, be more verbose with menu wording.
In setting up the MD5 column in the first place, it was hard to figure it out,
maybe its covered in the faq's, but I did/could not find it, so I had to do it
via trial and error! This program is powerfull, AND I LIKE IT, but it has some
deep complexity in the settings, I find hard to understand. Thanks for a great
app,
Q2.What is the expected output?
A2.To see MD5 column I "made", auto calculate a list of files in a directory.
Q3. What do you see instead?
A3. I see a "blank" MD5 column, until I manually force calculation!
Q4. What version of the product are you using?
A4. 5.0.1
Q5.On what operating system?
A5. Win Vista H.P., on HP/Compaq Presario, 3 gig ram,
Please provide any additional information below.
I am operating after being in sleep mode, when I got my 9 MD5's to show, I
chose to get rid of duplicate files, but also "delete to recycle bin" would not
work. I had to use Win Explorer!
