Responsibilities:

  1. Actively participate in project discussions, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving activities.
  2. Collaborate with team members to contribute to project development and implementation.
  3. Engage in hands-on learning experiences related to mechanical, electrical, electronics, telecommunications, and software programming aspects of the project.
  4. Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure timely completion with attention to detail.
  5. Adapt to dynamic project requirements and contribute innovative ideas for improvement.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to provide progress updates and seek guidance when needed.

Requirements:

  1. Currently enrolled as a student in a Kenyan university.
  2. Available for the entire duration of the 12-week internship program.
  3. Demonstrated interest and passion for learning and applying engineering concepts.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and actively participate in group discussions.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning new technologies.
  6. Understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronics, telecommunications, or software programming principles (depending on the area of interest).

Qualifications:

  1. For Mechanical & Mechatronics:

    • Proficiency in mechanical design software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
    • Familiarity with mechanics of materials, Finite Element Method (ANSYS), and fluid dynamics (ANSYS Fluent).
    • Basic knowledge of machining techniques (lathe, drilling, CNC), welding, and 3D printing.
  2. For Electrical & Electronics:

    • Experience with PCB design using KiCAD.
    • Familiarity with embedded programming languages such as Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, or FPGA.
    • Understanding of controller design, signal processing (MATLAB/Simulink), and circuit analysis principles.
  3. For Telecommunications:

    • Knowledge of antenna design principles and experience with Vector Network Analyzer.
    • Proficiency in web and server-side programming languages.
  4. For Software Programming:

    • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and experience with Linux operating systems.
    • Familiarity with real-time operating systems like FreeRTOS.
