Register with Apple and sign OS X binaries #2

Open JeremyRand opened 10 years ago

Quoting @indolering:

By default OX 10.9 and above blocks unsigned binaries from opening, so for any of our software to "just work" on OS X we need to sign them regardless of whether they are in the App store or not.

To cover the feeds and headache, we could put paid versions of our software up on the store. I would support revenues (with some sane upper limit) going to whomever maintains the OS X branches .

Recap of prior discussion:

@JeremyRand want to create a BountySource bounty for this? I think it should be $200-$300, enough time to get something on the app store that might make this self funding.

phelixbtc commented 10 years ago

Specific BountySource sounds like a good idea.

JeremyRand commented 10 years ago

I'm fine with using BountySource for this. I'll deal with it when I have a bit less on my plate.

JeremyRand commented 10 years ago

@indolering and @phelixbtc , do you want me to create a separate ticket for a $300 bounty request, or should we use this ticket for that? If a separate ticket, what is the distinction in function of this ticket and the new one?

phelixbtc commented 10 years ago

@JeremyRand I'm fine with both.
