Some things to consider:
(1) Give links to the BountySource and Tip4Commit pages for our repos. (BountySource now accepts Bitcoin, by the way.) (2) If we get tax-exempt status, we should include a way for donations to be earmarked for a specific BountySource and/or Tip4Commit repo, so that the donor can deduct taxes but still choose where it goes.
Other notes... I think both BountySource and Tip4Commit can integrate with GitHub repos, we should consider adding these features to our repos.
@JeremyRand I agree 100% on integration. Someone is working on a Namecoin tipping fork, any donations to the non-profit should be routed through that as it reduces processing fees.
We could include a free-response section where they can enter in a more specific earmark or input a URL to a specific bounty.

Speaking of which, I think @phelixbtc has the privileges required to do this. Phelix, would you mind looking into it? I've done it once before and, from what I can remember, it was a very simple process and mostly automated.
For Tip4Commit, we should come up with a policy regarding awards... they allow custom policies about which types of commits get what percentage of the pool... e.g. security fixes and major usability fixes should get more than UI typo fixes. See this explanation: https://github.com/tip4commit/tip4commit/pull/74
@JeremyRand I think we need to get someone to manage this!
@domob1812 @phelixbtc Could you create a namecoin.org-donations repo? And, if possible, migrate this ticket over there.
I'd be glad if phelixbtc or khal could do it, as I have never done any Github administration before. But if they can't do it within the next few days, ping me again and I can give it a try.
/me casts magical summoning spell: @khalahan :grinning:
Hmm, why should we take donations in legacy money?
BECAUSE IT'S MONAAAAY!!!!

Thank you, -Zach Lym
@domob1812 I was just asking to create a repo for the donation page specifically. Although, it might be smarter to consolidate all static landing pages into repo....
Why not simply make it a subpage of the new website? I would prefer the BTC/NMC addresses to be on the front page, though. TBH I don't care about the fiat :p
@phelixbtc ahh, well, subsites are kindof a hack which messes up the layers of abstraction, but they aren't that bad I guess.
EDIT: moved some discussion to #35.
@shobute any chance you could help out on this?
@JeremyRand perhaps, since you know the BountySource stuff, you could design this page?
@indolering Do you want this as a subpage of the current www.namecoin.info layout? I might be able to work on it if no one else is willing/able.
Updated to simplify task, rely on BountySource for fiat and Bitcoin donations.
Clone the Obama donation page (it was A/B tested to death) but with a BTC/USD toggle and have the buttons act as links to BountySource:
https://www.bountysource.com/cart?amount=XXX¤cy=YYY&team_id=namecoin
Add Namecoin and Bitcoin donation addresses and QR codes alongside the donation widget.
