Red dot does not show when file is dirty #21

Doesn't tell you when you need to save and when you've already saved AFTER a 
file has been saved 
once.

I'm having trouble seeing this. When I use it, the red dot appears too much; 
never not enough. Can you provide a 
more thorough way to reproduce this problem?
