Distro … I haven't used PopOS and elementaryOS. Personally, I recommend Linux Mint for those coming from Windows and are not techies. I think elementaryOS is good, especially if they come from MacOS.

Either way, all of it are Ubuntu-based and Ubuntu is Debian-based, so they shouldn't have problems as far as finding software.

If they want to play games, as long as they can install Steam, they should be fine. Another option is to install PlayOnLinux or Lutris (or both if they want), though it will require a little tinkering, and is useful when Steam Proton doesn't support game or is not working.

For cloud storage I recommend: pCloud. It works well in Linux (I tried with Ubuntu, Peppermint OS, Linux Mint). Here's my affiliate link (just in case): https://partner.pcloud.com/r/31999.

And if you like it, you can also setup your own affiliate link here: https://partner.pcloud.com/ref/4ae1600f24 (it's a tiered-affiliate link), then you can use those for your clients. ^_^

Shalom!
