[x] Added some updates related to recent database implementation changes.
[x] Document the ascending bootstrap. It is currently documented only legacy and lazy implementations.
[x] Review remaining parts of this documentation.

NOTE: There are other PRs containing updates related to Boost removal and bumping to C++20.
