+1 Some problem for me with the zip version
+1 Neither Windows, nor my Mac can unzip the 9.6 release.
I just figured it out by examining the data structure. He used pkzip. I had no problems unzipping it with latest version of pkware.
@dlethe is it free?
It is a commercial product, but when you click the download site there is an option to tell them it is a one-time use only (which it was for me) and they let me download and run it. So my advice is to just be honest about the intended use and you'll be ok.
@dlethe How about basic normal standard zip format ?
It won't work, you must have a software product that uses a fairly recent variation of the pkzip-proprietary compression format.. (I think it was 6.2 don't remember)
On Windows, 7-zip opens basically everything. Haven't had an unzip issue since ~2004 when I first discovered it.

It's also wickedly fast and has excellent .7z compression if you're compressing things yourself. The fastest lzma2 preset is about 15% better compression than the best RAR setting (which is already superior to all ZIP formats), and is something like 800% faster. The slowest and most compact preset does an astounding job with similar data. I once packed about 8GB of game saves down to ~3MB... in a regular Deflate or Deflate64 .zip file, it was nearly 1GB large.
The only thing is... it's not as well supported on other operating systems.
Confirmed that with 7-zip it opens without problem!
Cant unpack the latest release!
