Hi,
We usually use the wind direction from a model field, e.g., ncep. That is also the default behaviour of openwind.

Hi,
I am a total beginner using CMOD5. I would like to use openwind to determine the wind intensity in a Sentinel-1 image. What method would you suggest to determine winddir (wind direction) and give it as an input for the function? Sorry, I didn't find any documentation about it in your repo.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info. So, does it mean that if I leave winddir
without any input, it will download the correct data automatically from NCEP?
Yes, it should if there is data online.
