Resize covers ti fit to width #82

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Could it be possible to resize the album art to screen width?
My tracks have 500x500 embedded covers, either they're cropped (if crop option
is active) or squeezed horizontally...

- Samsung Galaxy S2
- Android 2.3.4
- Windows 7 (64)
- MonkeyTunes 1.6.3.4
- TunesRemote+ 2.4.1

There must be a way to fix this, it's just a bitmap...
Mate you're doing a fantastic job ,I have some suggestions for this gem! Where
could I post them? :-)

Yeah we thought so too. If it Force it to fit will will srhink your 500x500
into an even box but that leaves 2 black bands above and below the bitmap and
it looks horrible.

As for suggestions, your best bet is to create ticket's like this one for each
indivdual suggestion and mark them as "Enhancement" not "Defect".

Also if you want to see what Hyperfine's remote does they shrink your image to
fit.

http://hyperfine.com/remoteforitunes/default.aspx

I personally like ours as a background image a little bit better.

Wow, they sport a good looking interface! You must a find a simple way to
achieve the proper album art fit.... all the Android music players I have
tested are using the same bitmaps correctly .. the only difference is that
you're reading the cover from the server running on the computer... maybe you
must save the image in a temporary area on the phone and then use and Android
API call to show correctly the image?
BTW, how do I mark the post as an enhancements?

I changed it to ehancement. Maybe you don't have permissions to.

I can definitely get the album to fit, what I am telling you is it looks
horrible with the rest of the transparent interface. It looks like a postage
stamp in the center of the screen. Which is why Hyperfine changed their layout
around having an perfect X by X over.

Jeffery Sharkey the original author of this app chose to have the fade in fade
out transparency of the Player Controls etc over a cropped background cover.
Having a centered X by X image looks terrible ,trust me. the entire UI would
probably have to be changed to make it look right with the transparent animated
fade in's of the player controls.

Oh well, you need to adjust the bitmap to fit the width... if the album art is
very small, it will be spoiled, othewise it will look defintelly good. It
should look like Hyperfine's one

As mentioned, that was not Jeffery Sharkey's original design of the uI and
changing it would be a large undertaking.

Also I have worked with the Hyperfine guys to support MonkeyTunes. For 4.99
their product is top notch and is much more full featured than TR+.

I support TR+ just as a free option for my MT users but I recommend it fully!

4.99 for high quality software is a bargain in my opinion. :)

Are you the author? :-)
Think that apps such as PowerAmp 2 will cost less while doing more!

HA! No I am not affiliated with Hyperfine. I just know from how much time i
put into MonkeyTunes that sometimes good software is worth paying for.
