I like it.
I am also in favor of this
Move or make swipe button smaller: If i'm comparing something like an expanding fire perimeter over time (https://go.nasa.gov/2MS3kym) and i'm zoomed all the way in, the swipe button in the middle of the screen is in the way of comparing the imagery.
Swipe can get hidden behind the Layer list sidebar: If you swipe all the way across and end up behind the layer list, if you don't know how to collapse it, you might think you're stuck.
I like the smaller dragger as well.
I am leaning against removing the top tabs. I believe that if a user comes to Worldview through an A|B permalink it would be useful to see the disabled Events/Data-download tab to know that these features exist.
I think the swipe dragger may be better positioned if it was on the same X-axis of the scale. In its current center position, it interacts with the sidebar (and its elements - layer/button hover events, etc.) and can get lost under the sidebar requiring to close/open sidebar to get dragger back.
If moving the dragger makes sense, limiting the max height of the sidebar may also be a good idea so that its bottom is never in the dragger path X-axis. In this case, moving the sidebar up (removing Layers/Events/Data tabs) would be useful to allow more potential sidebar height.
Another idea: Add radius adjuster to spy.
Make it more obvious in the layer list you have entered comparison mode e.g. add an alert that fades away after a few seconds; when you click on "Start Comparison" something dramatic happens to the layer list (like a spinner in pinball that's vertical instead of horizontal).
Currently the active comparison mode looks greyed out, while the other two modes appear to be active. Perhaps we can make the active mode a different, brighter color.
Space A and B guitar picks further apart e.g. 7 days
ADD swipe line padding so it is easier to grab.
Updates (After a dev meeting talk)
A|B
instead of animation.

Potential enhancements/changes to comparison feature
People found this spacing awkward.
Idea for Fix It was suggested by @edplato that we could revert the layer list to the way it was: and remove the top three tabs all-together while in A|B mode
