There's no urgent need but Python 3.8 started in 2019 vintage. Python 3.11 is pretty widely used now, it's been out since 2022. See https://docs.python.org/release/3.11.0/whatsnew/index.html for changes between versions. I've run mkdocs locally with Python 3.11 on Ubuntu 22.04 and don't see any issues.
