hi @AdamJDuncan, let me think about this because the VIC raw output files are supposed to be deleted after a run is done so the user shouldn't need to access them.

OK I now see the "save to: path to copy raw VIC output files to" line under the "Vic Options" section of "Populating the Configuration File".

I'll add a note to the nowcast and forecast tutorial pages as I think others following along will also try to save the output to a directory to keep things simple on their "first go", and conclude that's the standard output.
