Module 5 - Open Results: Add lesson about open poster design, e.g. better poster #716

Hi! First of all, thank you for creating such a wonderful course, it was a pleasure to improve my open science skills.

I´d like to make a suggestion for module 5: open results. In my opinion, this module could benefit from either a new lesson, or an extension of the 'From theory to practice' lesson by including concrete advice for designing scientific posters. In the last couple of years, the better poster movement has changed the design of many posters across scientific disciplines, leading to more exchange of ideas. Having a concrete lesson on the principles of UX-oriented poster design would not only be useful but also very interactive. I would be happy to contribute. Since Mike Morrison, the creator of the original 'better poster' design, has given a NASA TOPS workshop about this topic in the past, he might want to contribute, as well.

Additional extensions of module 5 could focus on improving scientific writing (e.g. use of active verbs, less jargon, sentence structure), but this is a less concrete suggestion than including poster design advice.

Thank you @MSchellenberger, I will add this suggestion to our review process. I expect initial review to occur at the end of this month and monthly thereafter. Stay tuned, as we get to your contribution. We greatly appreciate it and feel free to continue submitting suggestions.

Good morning @MSchellenberger. After some discussion internally, we really do like your ideas and the merit behind them. However, our thinking right now is that our Open Science 101 curriculum has a specific scope and goals that it is aiming to meet and we would like to keep any content related to poster design within this scope. Specifically, the aim of the course is to equip researchers, students, and citizen scientists with the knowledge and skills to navigate the principles and practices of Open Science and as a result promote a culture of inclusivity that will help to solve major problems of our time.

These ideas do absolutely carry over into design, such as the accessibility of a poster and visual representation of information. I.e., a QR code with augmented reality, links to social media, etc. I do remember the talk that Mike gave back in November of last year as well, and many great ideas came out of that.

With those things said, I want to flip this around and encourage you to consider the existing scope of the curriculum and perhaps suggest content on poster design that would work well within that scope and where that content would best fit. We would be happy to hear what your thoughts are.
