As mentioned in this review comment, the current data files used in the example notebook are from NASA Earthdata, which requires a free Earthdata Login account for any access. Let's replace it with something that does not require an account whatsoever.

How about we use the following three files from NOAA National Centers of Environmental Information's (NCEI) (a) Global Precipitation Climatology Project (GPCP) Climate Data Record (CDR), Monthly V2.3 and the (b) Climate Data Record (CDR) of Precipitation Estimation from Remotely Sensed Information using Artificial Neural Networks (PERSIANN-CDR), Version 1 Revision 1) (a daily quasi-global precipitation product), accessible via this GPCP catalog and this PERSIANN catalog:
