Not very systematically, but the data contains some no-space-after marking.

In particular, it is encoded as:

[ ] value SpaceAfter=No in the last column (our attribute misc) in the .conllu files for Polish and in the test data of Spanish
[ ] the nsp value in the third column of the .parsemetsv file (this seems to be used in all of the files)

In the vertical file, an item with no whitespace after it may be marked by following it with a glue tag <g/>.

I cannot understand in what way this is an issue, as you implied here, the nsp or SpaceAfter=No must have been converted to glue markers

It's not converted, that's the issue!
