Tablet compability android 3.x #552

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It would be good to have the XBMC remote app to scale up good to tablets
atleast. Then later it maybe could be implemented to utilise the large space on
tablets to present information, libraries and controls in new different ways.

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
All tablets running 3.x

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?

Please provide any additional information below.

Any screenshots so we can see what's wrong? I don't have a honeycomb device to
test properly.

The control scales up. But users may get the impression "big" and "bumpy" maybe
use the extra space to have both the control interface and now playing on the
same screen or info about the movie/show/music the user is watching/listening.
Toghether with the full control interface.

|Controll -- Now playing -- Movies/show/music list|
An idea on how to use the extra space more effectively.

Yeah well that doesn't help much. ;)

Will hopefully get access to the Xoom soon so I can test this.

I've just tested on a Xoom and it looks terrible! Will need to add some more
tablet support before releasing this.

I have both a Samsung GalaxyTab 10.1 (16gig/wifi/android3.1) and a Motorola
Xoom (32gig/verizon/android3.2) and would like to offer my services to test
this equipment with xbmc 10.1. Would you like me to make each bug a separate
"issue" or just attach them all to issue 552?

I have an proposal of design changes to the tablet version of the app. This is
just an proposal so you may change it or use some part of it if you want.
FIG1:
This is the now movies/series/picture/music field user chooses by using the
buttons in fig 3, user may also scroll as before
FIG2:
This field should hold the now playing and the remote controlfield depending on
what the user chooses in fig 3. Fig 3 may also be present in this field if not
applicable in the menu border.
FIG3:
Buttons for navigation beetwen modes, settings etc.
