month/January parses, month/Jan doesn't #481

This is my examples.txt

month/Jan(January) ~year(2016)
month/January(January) ~year(2016)

month/Jan doesn't parse Jan 2017

but month/January does and it parses as month/Jan. January 2017

Do I have it wrongly that month/Jan should parse properly?
