Music folder imported twice #90

Open legacychimera247 opened 1 year ago

So, seems that reasonance has no rescan of the library, after the first import, so, just out of curiosity, after having added some albums, i tried reimport the music folder again

as a result i had my collection listed twice (with double the ram used of course) and the only way to solve this was a clean reinstall

thought about reporting it :)

I'm not completely sure, but I think I might be experiencing a related or similar issue. I am also encountering duplicated songs, artists, and genres in Resonance.

Description: Resonance is duplicating almost every song, artist, and genre in the playlist when I add or remove a music folder. Even after adding an empty folder, the previous duplicates remain but are not playable. I have attempted to troubleshoot the issue by removing and re-adding music folders, checking metadata files for duplicates, restarting my pc and reinstalling the app, but the issue persists.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Add or remove a music folder
  2. Observe almost every song, artist, and genre is duplicated in the playlist, and previous duplicates remain but are not playable.

Expected Behavior: When adding or removing a music folder, Resonance should update the playlist accordingly and not show duplicate songs, artists, or genres. All files in the library should be playable.

Additional Information:

Possible Solution (Suggestion): Maybe adding a clear cache option or a folder rescan feature could help prevent or resolve this issue in the future. This is just an idea, and I'm not sure if that would fix the issue or not.

System Information:

Please let me know if there's any additional information you need to help diagnose and resolve this issue. I really enjoy using Resonance, it's such a beautiful application :) image

you also get double or triple the albums when in the album detaild page change the sorting method (eg, per year, artist or alphabetical)

anyway, i am on the same system as you with almost same specs (except my specs are amd), and judging from your photo, as of now the only solution to solve your problem is to do a clean resonance install...

This should be fixed when I implement https://github.com/nate-xyz/resonance/issues/9

Thank you for this awesome App. On Ubuntu 22.04.3 music folder is not automatically synchronized. If an mp3 song is added or removed, I need to delete the current folder in Resonance and add it again.
