There is a official level editor for the game made by Jonas Echterhoff called Rdedit10 which was released as a separate program.
It only works for Classic macOS 8 to 9 and I have not seen it open sourced on GitHub. The program is very hard to find
as a simple google search won't be helpful but it can be found on a couple Macintosh abandonware archive sites. since this is not open source as far as I know could this be remade from scratch using original code? Yes I know reckless drivin is now open sourced but I have not seen the level editor open sourced too is what I'm`saying.
Hi! Thanks for the information about this. I see two possibilities:
Once I get Reckless Drivin' working, Jonas might be willing to release the source code for Rdedit10. This would be the best option if possible, because I never used Rdedit10 so I have no idea what it would behave like.
If Jonas does not release the source, it would be possible to design a level editor, though I'm not sure how similar to the original it would be.
If this ever happens, it would be after I get the game fully working because I think the game itself is more important.
