emblem badge & rank #14

As I mentioned in the RCOS mailing list, I personally don't think it is necessary to enumerate the ranking of each group:

I like the idea of displaying the rank of projects with colors, but the bubbles with the numbers in them (for the project rank) confuse me. I thought they were representing the amount of new updates for that project until I looked at the code. Besides, I'm not sure how productive it is to actually enumerate the rank of the groups, I mean are we really competing to be listed first, second, etc. in the dashboard? I don't really see the point of enumerating a bunch of groups who have all updated their code within the past week, I feel it makes much more sense to just mark them all as "updated recently" or something.

I think that it might be better just to have some color on the project listing which would denote the project's activity. For example, that bottom bar that says "Repository updated 1 week ago...Blog updated 1 week ago" could have the color instead: https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B1uQWmnCzsgiZDkwMGY0ZDctYjZjNi00MmExLTg1MjEtMmU5MGE4NGRmODky&hl=en&authkey=CLLnsrYP (obviously with text that is readable).

Any thoughts?

How about something like this: http://i.imgur.com/dxGVw.png

Maybe with slightly better looking faces. This fuzzies it up a little but keeps the emblems. The colors of the emblems would also switch from being colored based on rank to colored based on age, so the top projects would all be green if they were all updated in the past day, and if there's a large amount of projects with no updates, they would all be red.

We could also subtly color the text for blog/repo (not a big fan of the big block of color).

This alleviates all my worries, works for me.
