Error: Memory #36

So, I downloaded PCAS and the most up to date version of CELibraries and exported them to my calculator. I've got a TI-84 Plus CE running OS 5.2.2.0043. As my OS is below 5.3, I unarchived PCAS and used Asm(prgmPCAS to execute the program. I'm getting the Error: Memory message ("Memory is insufficient to perform the calculation. Check infinite recursions or loops. Ex: Y1=Y1"). I've checked all of the past issues and nothing seems to be helping. Please let me know what to do here.

Archive all your programs, update to 5.3.0, and try again?

dxgitalethan commented 1 year ago

I get the same error on 5.7 (jailbroken) when I run it through Cesium.

Read back through the many closed issues about this and see if any of those can help you. I think it would be good if I added some steps to the readme maybe

This just reminded me. In our master branch we have support for the new toolchain. But iirc V1.1 still uses the old one. I imagine we'd get some size improvements with the new toolchain that would maybe make this less common? Worth a shot to make V1.2 I think

I have the same issue.

PeterHindes commented 1 year ago

I have the same issue on 5.8.0 on ARTIFICE

adriweb commented 1 year ago

Same as before: archive all your programs etc. then press and hold the reset button on the back for like 3s (this will clear ram, getting rid of potential leaks). then try again

idsus commented 1 year ago

Same error on jailbroken 5.6.0 on ARTIFICE

I'm having the same issue, I've archived all of my downloaded apps and reset the ram but still cant launch PCAS. I'm using the Ti-84 Plus CE Python edition.

For those still having the issue, this more recent build (although it's not that recent anymore...) has been tested succesfully: https://github.com/nathanfarlow/PineappleCAS/files/7004232/PCAS_llvm_build_new.zip

Note that there has since been another CAS engine program developed and still maintained (as of December 2023) that you can also use: CASymba.

for some reason, using pcas version 1.0 rather then version 1.1 works for me using arTIface on version 5.8. i hope this helps someone in the future.
