Yes and no, you can still connect your iDevice to the drone and get a video
stream but as of now it interferes with the controls from your RC receiver and
makes it not really usable.
This is a known issue but I have not yet found a solution for it. I tried to
use pairing but since the arduino sends the commands locally it has no MAC
address and thus cannot be paired to the drone.
Another option would be to use an app on your iDevice thats sole purpose is to
display the video stream from the drone and not controlling it, this way it
should work (but the video stream still would have the low range of the iDevice
wifi in contrast to the long range of your RC reveiver!).

In what way does it interfere? Some of the apps have the ability to switch
from accelerometer control to manual...

Nope its more like trying to fly with two devices at once, one sends e.g.
launch command and the other land command and the drone gets confused.
An app would be required that's not acting as a controller to the drone at all!
