Extension does not work with GNOME 3.36

After upgrading to GNOME 3.36, the extension doesn't work anymore. It doesn't error but when pressing Space in the overview, the indicators aren't shown anymore.

I've now enabled logging in the settings but where does the logging output go?

Sorry for the delay, I wasn't on Gnome 3.36 and did not have much time to setup a VM. The fix in #26 is supposed to make everything work like before.

@nathanielsimard I tried the fix and I can run the extension and bring up the shortcuts, but I can't actually use them. After I press pace, keys get assigned to the windows, but nothing happens if I press any of them. Let me know if I can do anything to help debug this.

You can enable and check the logs in /var/log/syslog with something like tail -f /var/log/syslog | grep Overview.

I'm on Ubuntu 20.04, newly installed (a couple of days ago), but I experienced the same thing on Ubuntu 19.10 before upgrading. I didn't catch the log on that tho'

Hmm, I'm not sure it is related to Gnome 3.36. I'm on ubuntu 20.04 in the Gnome-Xorg session and everything works. Can you try without any other extension with this session ? It might also be a problem with wayland or the ubuntu session.

You can also try to find Javascript error in the logs. The way Gnome is built I can't catch them all: tail -f /var/log/syslog | grep error

Yeah, I just don't know how to debug this. I just list syslog with tail -f /var/log/syslog and I don't see any errors whatsoever. I also use Gnome Shell 3.36.1 with Xorg so... I'm out of options here. Thanks anyway. Maybe someone else can dig some more into his.

I had some weird behaviours with different keyboard layouts on Gnome 3.36.1. I'm unable to show the Overview (without any extension) with the French (Canada) layout. Maybe you can try with the English (US) layout ? That's pretty much my last guess 😅.

I'll close the issue because it doesn't seem to be related to Gnome 3.36 as it didn't work either on ubuntu 19.10. If you want, I invite you to open another issue for your problem.

You know, you might be right, I did make some changes to the keyboard cause Super & Alt had some shortcuts attached to them that I didn't like. I'm also using the romanian/english layout so it's not the standard en (US) layout.

I'll add one thing tho'. Before upgrading to 3.36 the extension was working just fine with the non-standard layout. I don't really know what changed, but there might be something there.
