Buildings allow a nation to do certain things, or will give them boosts. Examples:
Barracks - can recruit and train infantry military units.
Research Lab - can research different technologies.
Airfield - can recruit air-based units.
Armory - can recruit tanks and other vehicles.

Buildings are able to be leveled up to unlock better perks. Each one will have a designated max level, and a nation can have only one of each building.
