Hi everyone and welcome!

I have shared this project on r/selfhosted hoping some people would be interested and some of you are, apparently!

Given the interest, I plan on continuing the development and I think a (near-)complete re-write would be a good idea. When I started this, it was only for my family, so I made it with what I was comfortable with: Bash. The problem is, this can cause some problems security-wise, especially with my implementation. I would also like to have something more robust and more user-friendly.

To be honest, I don't know much about webdev, I've worked a bit with Flask before but that's it. So I would gladly accept recommendations on how to start the re-write. Also, if you know good frameworks I could use, feel free to comment.

On another topic, I started switching from Apache to Caddy but I have problems with uploads that are not complete for some reason.

I won't be able to work much on the project in the next two or three weeks because of a professional deadline but I will still try to help if you have any issues.

In the next weeks, you can continue posting issues, feature requests or pull requests and I will take a look if I have time. Again, please feel free to share any ideas or tools I could use for the re-write!

Thank you all!

Do you have plan to continue this awesome project ? I don't know of any alternative in the world of self hosting and your solution meets a fairly widespread need, the platforms offering this kind of tools are rather vague in terms of data retention. In any case, thank you for providing such a useful tool.
