update READMEs #217

Reduced the size of the main README, because most of the stuff will be covered in the documentation. We should add a .gif there when all the pages are done, to get a preview of the project. Also updated some small READMEs in subdirectories.

In the README-devcontainer under Further Information the links https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/remote/containers-advanced and https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/remote/containers-advanced#_developing-inside-a-container-on-a-remote-docker-host lead to the same result. The anchor #_developing-inside-a-container-on-a-remote-docker-host does not seem to exist (anymore).
