We need to add a 'material allowance' property to the Contour operation. This
property would define a length (thickness) so that the operation occurs in two
passes. The first is cut extra large (or small) and then the finishing pass
cuts the 'material allowance' of material for an accurate finished dimension.
I had an idea for this. The finishing pass might be possible using the ramping
code such that the gradient of the tool is artificially reduced and the cutting
depth is set to the final depth. If the gradient is reduced such that it
allows one full pass around the connected sketch in one step-down distance.
This would produce a single spiral movement around the sketch (or back and
forward for a non-periodic sketch) until the final depth was reached. It's
only an idea. I haven't worked it through.
I'm just adding this issue here so that the idea is not lost. It's not
something I am working on right now.
