CVAR-comparison-based filters #128

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

Maybe this is already present in the Custom filter option, but I couldn't get
it to do anything.

What I'd like to do is use a math/logic comparison against arbitrary CVARS for
filters like "g_respawndelay < 5"--even if I had to 'OR' a bunch of composite
equality-only comparisons.

I'd really like to ignore all those servers that think I should take a coffee
break every time I die, but the more generalized approach would open up a lot
more possibilities in one step.

I didn't get too far without also wishing I could use (presumably) auth_status
to filter out servers that allow unauthenticated clients.

Maybe it doesn't even matter...I finally moved from 4.1 because it was dead and
hardly andy good stable+cheater-free servers remained. But 4.2 seems just as
bad if not worse, and most servers don't even do the auth thing to /try/ to
compensate for their lack of oversight/policing. Even allowing unauthenticated
clients I get a pretty tiny list to choose from, most empty or populated only
with bots. :/

It's a real shame too, because UrTConnector is actually a pretty nice server
browser, which I only today discovered. It would have a solid, bright future
built for a game with some semblance of a future left. :P
