Logging error in college filter #51

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open the college filter
2. change the institution group
3. change the colleges you're looking at (hide some)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Fails to log and so pops up an alert "Logging failed: error," to the user which 
is problematic. Do we really care if we don't log this? If so, needs fixing. 
Possibly has something to do with MacademiaConstants.DEFAULT_GROUP being 'acm'.
