Option to download latest version is absent depending on distribution #47

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install KX-Studio then frescobaldi
2. Install UbuntuStudio (11.04) then frescobaldi
3. Install Ubuntu (11.04) then frescobaldi

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In all distro's there should be the option in the settings to download and use
the latest version of lilypond. Only in Ubuntu (11.04) this is the case, not in
the other two distro's

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.2, OS, obviously: Linux

Please provide any additional information below.
All three was done on a fresh install.

My guess is that there must be a library dependency that does not prevent
frescobaldi to install, but does prevent to implement this feature.

Do you mean the Frescobaldi settings (Frescobaldi can automatically download
binary LilyPond releases) or the package management settings of the
distribution?

I guess not all distributions are as quick as desirable to include the most
recent LilyPond version.

But there should be no problem to download LilyPond from within Frescobaldi (it
will then be installed somewhere in your homedir where you want it). Go to
Settings->Configure Frescobaldi->LilyPond preferences->Add->Download. Choose a
version and click install. Then click OK twice to close the dialogs and voilà!
