Install and test SD card memory for camera and autorecord #46

Camera was causing CR1000 to work too hard and get confused writing to CR1000 card. There is an option to install an SD card internal to the camera.

Since these tests are satisfactory,

Notes

Files can be retrieved thru HTTP interface, using 192.168.1.90 (setup thru router) or 169.254.99.99 (direct ethernet connection). Still looking into how to get files over the Pakbus directly thru datalogger. FTP uses ip address and port 85, e.g. ftp://192.168.1.90:85

Camera configuration

  1. With Power Mode set to "Partially On" and Ethernet Power Save Mode set to "Full Power Save", the average power draw is 10 mA at 12 VDC (quiescent). Not sure what it is with triggering images each hour.

  2. External Trigger is enabled using Still Image Setting 1. All other forms of video and timed still capture are disabled.

  3. Capture To Memory Card to "CARD" (internal camera card).

  4. Maximum Memory Size is 0 (so autoconfigure space) with ring memory

  5. Still Image Setting 1 -- 1280x960 with Compression None (lossless). Images are about 200Kb each. 32 Gb will hold 160,000 images (over 6600 days if one each hour) before being overwritten in ring memory.

Moving forward with using internal SD cards on cameras, since this works much better than previous configured. CR1000 is not tasked now with storing these images, and free to do other things.

Purchased an ethernet-to-wifi adapter, set it up to connect wifi to our linksys router (SSID: UNCBUOY). So now we can connect wirelessly to camera ethernet port for image download when we visit buoy and attach the little adapter on the camera temporarily for download.
