Gets very slow to respond after only a few moves (Firefox) #10

After less than 10 moves the interaction gets very slow. Eventually taking two seconds or more to respond to a click.

While I recorded the Timeline in Chrome, I believe the issues I described in #9 are likely the cause of the slowness here.

Hopefully, fixes for one will also fix the other
