Get rid of `set editor`? #30

With the `editor` setting, is this whole `set editor` command still relevant? 
This mechanism takes 
quite a few lines of code, which could be removed.

the only case where this is useful is when the user failed to specify an editor 
in
their settings file and tracshell can't find an EDITOR in the env.

we could remove it if we enforced the settings file to specify a value for the 
editor.
