Describe the enhancement in detail.

Exception handling is all over the place right now.

Need a way to handle exceptions and log interesting tracebacks in a uniform
but clear way.

What files will be affected?

all

How will the enhancement benefit the project?

Will make the application more robust

What side-effects (if any) will the enhancement create?

None
