  • Yes it is for real. Some small “advertisements” for their paid product is there in the UI, but you quickly forget about them.
• What are the features? (Only view, deploy)

  • Installed charts
  • All revisions of that chart
  • Update to arbitrary version (latest is default)
    • Previous provided values will be added by default on upgrade
  • Rollback

  • Diff
  • Overview of k8s objects running in the cluster (and their reported health)

  • Soooo easy to install! Helm plugin, and start it and you are running
  • No additional configuration is needed. If you have a kubeconfig and helm installed, you are good.
  • No helm knowledge is needed.

  • Provides a build in way to run Trivy security scanning.

UI centered around Helm, which can make it a better experience than OpenLens from a chart point of view.

Tool is in version v1.3.3, which is a bit of a shame, because the scope of the tool is rather limited.

The personas for this are Ops people with limited experience with Helm, that quickly can get an overview of the state of the charts installed. The “ease of use” can also be a hindering factor in the long run for actual getting to know how things are working underneath.

OpenLens provides a raw k8s overview of your cluster with limited Helm parts, but stronger on the individual helm objects.
